A pop-up thunderstorm marched across the Hudson River, ambushing a young couple’s kayaking trip. The woman miraculously made it back to shore, but her fiancé remains missing. Detective Ebony Jones and her partner are the first on the scene to assist in rescuing the capsized boater.

Kyle Emory, the ex-boyfriend of her estranged best friend, attorney Jessie Martin, is the victim. The accident pits the two friends against each other as they investigate whether Kyle survived or met his untimely demise.
