The Mistake and the Lycan King
Listing Details
The events of wolf-shifter Ragna’s eighteenth birthday suggests that something has happened to the Moon Goddess. All unmated males claim that she is their fated mate—an impossibility. Pursued by males and hunted by females, she’s banished from all she’s ever known. To reclaim her life, she embarks on a desperate journey to find the missing goddess. The Lycan King, Zorian, is a brutal male molded by tragedy. Obsessed with the safety of the masses, he can no longer tolerate Ragna’s five-year evasion of his soldiers. When he takes matters into his own claws and cruelly captures the she-wolf himself, his lycan soul rebels and fights him at every turn to protect her. The road to restoration and redemption is riddled with shadows, and the two find themselves not only on a quest to save a deity but the entire kingdom. Content Warning: Dear reviewers, this book was not originally written for publishing. I wrote this on Inkitt, a free reading app, for exposure therapy because I didn't want to be alone on my healing journey. I was sexually assaulted and targeted by a second predator. Along with childhood abuse, it resulted in a personality disorder and trauma, so please know that this book targets those issues as I work on healing. I've learned from my readers that this is what makes my novels so special, that though they are fantasy romance novels with shifters, witches and epic adventures, the emotions and character growth are very real. Palatable. It is also what makes it hard to read. My debut novel, The Mistake and the Lycan King contains two assault scenes in the beginning, so the first section of the book is an emotionally challenging read. Please know that though the book can get very serious, grim, it has just as much humor to balance it out. Additionally, the book contains explicit sex scenes, and the Author's Notes explain why those were included. My readers enjoy them, and I've only had one person put the book down because there was too much of it. The Mistake and the Lycan King was published due to popular demand. It is professionally edited, formatted, and all parties have allowed its birth with compassion and sensitivity. Thank you for your consideration in reviewing it. I am hoping to start my life over and thrive instead of simply surviving. Starlight preserve you(as my readers and I say), Asha Nyr
