Wildflowers in Winter follows Edna Pearson through her last years as she confronts bitterness, episodes of dementia, and reunions with loved ones. For Edna family is the bloodline pure and simple. When her son, Larry, dies Edna is left alone. She blames Larry’s second wife and her daughters, for breaking up her son’s marriage and causing a rift between herself and her grandsons from Larry’s first marriage. Now, Edna fears living her remaining years in the company of the very people she resents. But her heartache brings her joy when Edna is reunited with her grandson, who soon takes on an active role in his grandmother’s life. As her dementia worsens, Edna drifts further into her past. When an unexpected phone call brings news that disrupts everything Edna has believed for so long, Edna must confront the past. Will she learn to forgive before it is too late and her time runs out?
